The England skipper played his usual reliable part, skippering his country to a crucial 0-0 draw against the Ukraine. Liverpool players Glen Johnson and Daniel Sturridge were injured, while Raheem Sterling didn’t get on the pitch.
Gerrard was one of England’s better players on an uneventful night, where most Reds fans were checking out two potential January transfer targets, Andriy Yarmolenko and Yevhen Konoplyanka. The latter especially caused England all sorts of problems.

The giant Dane bagged the winning penalty for his country! Denmark are now up to second place in Group B, and will be a tricky test for any country in the play-offs.

Uruguay 2-0 Colombia
Suarez’s Uruguay clinched a vital 2-0 win over second placed Colombia that edged them closes to automatic qualification. the striker will return to Liverpool action in two matches, when his ten match suspension ends.
