The Reds are set to make between £40-£50m for the transfer of contract rebel Raheem Sterling, and TalkSport suggests Brendan Rodgers has marked the Bundesliga ace as a key target.
Liverpool has already signed Hoffenheim star Roberto Firmino in a £29m deal, but the report suggests Rodgers is keen to continue his raid on the Bundesliga and make one of the most unexpected transfers of the summer window.
Reus handed the Reds a big boost on Thursday after Daily Express reported the German international would not sign for La Liga giants Barcelona over concerns relating to the Catalan club’s FIFA-imposed transfer ban.
The 26-year-old would have to wait until January 2016 to play for Barcelona, and would be faced with incredible competition to break into a front three containing Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.
Reus has also been linked with a number of other Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
