At 33, Manchester United left-back Evra is one of the oldest players in Didier Deschamps’ youthful squad.

Evra was the captain of the French team that went on strike during their disastrous World Cup campaign four years ago, but he, understandably, lost the armband, which will be worn by Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris this summer.
