Sky’s the limit for Carra
The Liverpool stalwart was close to a perfect send off in his 508th and final game for his club, just a whisker away from scoring a 30-yard pile driver that would of seen The Kop erupt.
As it was the 35 year-old, was substituted in the 87th minute, walking off the pitch for the final time to a rousing ovation.
In an incredible career spanning 17 years, Carra has been a servant to the game, this season he will move on to pastures new, fronting the Monday Night Football show on Sky Sports with Gary Neville.
Carragher spoke to the Premier League about the transition and the Unique season facing premier League fans.
“It’s been a long time since we had a Premier League like this, where there has been so much intrigue and interest from everyone
for the three top teams to have new managers at the start of the season there are a lot of questions to be asked about them: the players they bring in, how they set up, what the results will be.
The man from Bootle has also pledged to be honest and open about his opinions,particularly regarding those who were his team mates just a few months ago.
“I have only just come out of the game and so can give insight on players who I have played with and against
“I aim to just be myself and I won’t look to criticise players for the sake of it, but if I feel that is my opinion of a situation I will say it because it is part of my job and that is more important than keeping a few of my mates happy.”
