Chelsea’s Petr Cech tipped for Premier League glory with Arsenal
Most everyone knows that Mario Balotelli was a major flop for Liverpool. He only scored four goals since being transferred for £16m from AC Milan.
When Balotelli was asked why he was struggling so much with his new club, he said that “sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t.”
Despite it not working for the Italian, there are several other players that didn’t work out with their new clubs after being transferred.
Radamel Falcao had a difficult season with Man U, while also only tallying just four goals in his 26 appearances.
Chelsea’s left-back Filipe Luis also had a disappointing season, while it wasn’t quite as noticeable because of Chelsea’s success.
“Chelsea signed Filipe Luis at left-back – that hasn’t worked – but because they won the league, no one questioned that,” Barnes said.
“Manchester United signed Radamel Falcao and that didn’t work.” Barnes continued. “The environment [for Balotelli] probably didn’t suit him. It was a gamble, and it didn’t work.”
We’ll have to keep our eye out for next seasons flops, there’s always a few that create disappointment for the clubs.
