Liverpool legends Robbie Fowler and Dietmar Hamann have both lavished praise on the club for their recent signing of Christian Benteke.
The Belgian international finally secured his move to Anfield on Wednesday, joining in a £32.5m deal from Aston Villa.
While questions have been raised about his ability to fit into the team and the style of play at Anfield, Fowler is delighted with the move.

“I’m absolutely delighted. I think he’s an excellent player, he will get us goals,” Fowler told Sky Sports News HQ.
“He’s a proven Premier League player so I’m excited he’s joined. I think we probably needed a player to take a little bit of the burden off a few of the other players as well so hopefully he’ll be a massive success and score loads of goals for us.”
Fowler also insisted that Benteke’s physicality will be a huge bonus for the club next season, while Hamann echoed his sentiments.
The former German international believes that the Belgian ace could be the ‘final piece in the jigsaw’ as ultimately he will solve Liverpool’s goal-scoring issues that plagued them last season.
