Reds want Hannover keeper Rob-Robert Zieler at Anfield, if current number one joins Barcelona.
Liverpool have identified Hannover goalkeeper Rob-Robert Zieler as a replacement for Pepe Reina, should the Spaniard join Barcelona, reports the Dail Mail.
Reina is wanted buy his former club to replace fellow Spain international Victor Valdes, who is set to leave the Nou Camp this summer after publicly refusing to sign a new contract.
Former Villareal keeper Reina says he is ‘flattered’ by Barca’s interest but has insisted he is happy at Anfield.
However, it remains possible that the La Liga giants will lure him back to Catalonia this summer.
If that proves the case, the Reds will mopve for Zieler who is familiar with English football having spent a year on-loan at Northampton Town in 2008/9.
The 24-year-old already has two caps for the German national team and has impressed for Hannover this term, missing just four Bundesliga matches all season.
According to transfermarkt.co.uk, the German has just two years remaining on his current deal with Hannover and could be available for as little as £7m.
