Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is on the lookout for central midfielders with club legend Steven Gerrard departing for LA Galaxy in the summer. The 34-year-old is leaving after 17 years and over 700 appearances in the team at Anfield.
The Merseyside club were linked to the 25-year-old back in 2013, but the player eventually decided to join Dortmund instead. However, with the German side struggling in the Bundesliga and Jurgen Klopp open to letting the Armenian go, now could be the time that Rodgers finally gets his man.
Mkhitaryan’s agent Mino Raiola has already insinuated that the attacking midfielder is expecting to leave the 2013 Champions League finalists in the summer. At the moment it looks like Liverpool are in pole position to get the player’s signature.
