Spurs interested too.
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race to sign AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli, according to Tuttosport.
The 23-year-old has scored 26 goals in 43 Serie A appearances since returning to Italy from Manchester City in January 2013.
However, he has been strongly linked with a move away from the San Siro this summer.
Arsenal, who are actively looking to sign a new striker, were reported to be very interested in Balotelli, but the Gunners have recently eased up in their pursuit of the Italian.
England remains Balotelli’s most likely destination, with Liverpool and Spurs now said to be in the running.
Liverpool’s interest hinges on the future of Luis Suarez.
The 27-year-old, who is currently serving a four-month ban for biting, is reportedly wanted by Barcelona.
If Suarez does depart Anfield this summer, the Reds pursuit of Balotelli could well intensify.
Balotelli has been capped 33 times at senior international level, scoring 13 goals, the last of which came during a 2-1 win over England at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil in June.
