Marseille teenage prospect Maxime Lopez heads Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers’ list of transfer targets.
Liverpool have joined Arsenal in the hunt for Marseille playmaker Maxime Lopez and hope to beat their title rivals to his signature in the summer.
The 16-year-old is very highly rated in the L’OM youth academy and that has sparked interest across Europe’s top clubs.
Liverpool are believed to have invited Lopez and his family as guests for the Merseyside derby at Anfield, despite Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi watching him play recently.
Lopez is understood to have met with Rodgers according to the Daily Mail, where it was underlined how youth team players are getting a chance to make it through to the senior team.
Meanwhile Rodgers remains interested in Dnipro’s Yevhen Konoplyanka although is considering alternatives. Swansea duo Ben Davies and Michel Vorm are also being monitored. The latter is no surprise given Simon Mignolet’s inconsistent start to his Liverpool career.
Former QPR loanee Dani Parejo has been watched by Liverpool chief scout Barry Hunter while playing for Valencia against Granada recently.
