Liverpool and Manchester City are doing battle over Fulham wonderkid Patrick Roberts, according to reports.
Roberts made 17 appearances for Fulham in the Championship last season and has attracted the attention of the Premier League, with The Sun reporting both sides have made bids of around £5m for the winger.
Both Liverpool and City will have to dig much deeper into its coffers to sign the 18-year-old however, with Fulham reportedly slapping a £10m price tag on the youngster.
According to the report, Roberts has refused to sign a new five-year £5k-a-week deal with the Cottagers and is keen for a move to the Premier League.
Liverpool completed the £49m sale of Raheem Sterling on Tuesday and it is understood Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to dip into some of transfer fee to land Roberts.
Despite signing Sterling, City are still desperate to sign more home-grown talent and Roberts could become a wise investment for the cashed-up side.
Fulham are likely to hold out for a larger transfer fee in the knowledge that both sides have plenty to spend.
