Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester United look set to miss out on key target Marco Reus, according to reports.
Reus has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield after the Reds sold England international Raheem Sterling to Manchester City in a £49m deal.
According to the Liverpool Echo however, La Liga giants Real Madrid have moved into pole position for the Borussia Dortmund man’s signature with Barcelona still keeping a keen eye on the situation.
Reus struggled with injuries last season as Dortmund stuttered to a Europa League spot last season, but the German international is still considered to be one of Europe’s hottest talents.
He scored 11 goals in 29 appearances last term and Dortmund has a major fight on its hands to keep hold of the 26-year-old.
According to the report, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all also keeping a keen eye on the situation, meaning a bidding war could break out this summer.
