AS Roma’s Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman has emerged as a key summer target for both Liverpool and Manchester United, Football Direct News reports.
The 24-year-old arrived in Italy last summer for a fee believed to be around €19m, and has impressed everyone with his all-action displays. He scored six and assisted five, but was equally as impressive at breaking up play when the opposition had the ball.
in 2014 he’s suffered with injuries, and has been cruelly ruled out of the World Cup as a result, where he was all set to play a starring role for Holland.
The player is expected to return for next season though, and Liverpool and United are ready to tempt Roma into selling with large bids this summer.
United badly need central midfield reinforcements, and while Liverpool’s midfield is already strong, it lacks the required depth needed for next term’s Champions League campaign.
Strootman is tall and strong, meaning he has the physical qualities to succeed in the Premier League, as well as being technically efficient.
