Spaniard has just returned to Catalonia after disappointing spell in Italy.
Liverpool have been put on alert by the news that on-loan AC Milan front man Bojan Krkic will not be signing for the Rossoneri this summer, reports talkSPORT.co.uk.
The exciting young Spain international has just completed a season-long loan spell in Serie A with the Italian giants, however, Milan have opted not to take up the option of signing the attacker on a permanent deal for £12.5 million when the transfer window reopens again later this summer.
And as a result, the 22-year-old will now be returning to parent club FC Barcelona, who Bojan is contracted to until 30 June 2016, although that does not mean that the Reds will not be able to still make a move for the player themselves.
However, with a goalscoring record of just three goals in 19 league appearances while at San Siro, and overall of only three strikes in 27 fixtures in all competitions, the Merseyside giants may be a little wary of making a move for the once-coveted forward.
