Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi is reportedly on the verge of securing a move to Real Sociedad despite interest from Liverpool.
According to Sky Sports, the 25-year-old is set to cost David Moyes’ side €15m and they report that the deal could even be concluded and announced today.

Liverpool transfer news
If true, that would be a huge blow for Brendan Rodgers as many believe that the Reds boss still needs one more midfielder to complete his squad.
Speculation had suggested that Lucas Leiva was on the brink of leaving the club, but following the injuries to Jordan Henderson and Joe Allen, he featured against Arsenal on Monday night.
In turn, such was the impressive nature of his contribution, there have been suggestions today that he could well stay at Anfield rather than move on loan to Besiktas.
His goodbye waves to the Liverpool fans when he was substituted arguably suggest otherwise, but Liverpool will need to reconsider their options moving forward if they are indeed about to miss out on Illarramendi.
It is another blow for the club after Mateo Kovacic joined Real Madrid earlier this month despite also being linked with a move to Merseyside. His arrival at the Bernabeu has in turn sparked Illarramendi’s exit, but it appears as though he will be staying in Spain.
