Juventus are keen on completing a move for Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva should a deal for Julian Draxler fall through, according to reports.
Lucas has struggled for first-team action under Brendan Rodgers, and it is understood Inter Milan are also keen on the Brazilian’s services.
However, Daily Express reports Juventus will attempt to sign the 28-year-old should its plans to sign Schalke ace Julian Draxler fall through.
Juventus have already snapped up Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, however the German international will be out of action until late October after suffering a thigh injury.
With Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Joe Allen and Emre Can all capable of playing as defensive midfielders, Lucas has dropped down the pecking order at Anfield and was left out of the squad for Liverpool’s opening weekend win over Stoke City.
It remains to be seen where Lucas Leiva will head to should be make the move away from Liverpool, but it likely he will head to the Serie A.
