Swansea could be pressured into selling Bony by a Champions League club.
The Metro reports that Liverpool could yet land a striker this summer in Wilfried Bony from Swansea City as the Ivorian prefers a move to a Champions League club.
Swansea have hinted that their hitman is happy at the club and may only leave if a Champions League club comes calling for his services.
Bony impressed in his first season in England netting 25 goals in all competitions for the Swans, and is now on the wish list of Tottenham Hotspur as well.
The 25-year old has been linked extensively with a move to Spurs as the Reds appeared to have cooled off their interest, but Swansea chief Huw Jenkins has suggested that they have a better chance of landing the powerful striker.
“Wilfried Bony is a fantastic professional. If a top Champions League club comes in, and puts the right offer on the table, then of course we will speak to him. As much as we want players to stay with us for a number of years, we have to be open,” Jenkins said.
While the news comes as a big boost for the Reds, who are desperate to sign a good replacement for Luis Suarez, Tottenham have been dealt a blow to their chances of signing the former Vitesse Arnhem star.
