Diminutive attacker set to undergo a medical on Merseyside next week.
Liverpool are finally on the verge of completing a £7.7 million move for highly-rated Celta de Vigo front man Iago Aspas, says the Liverpool Echo.
The 25-year-old Spanish forward has been at Celta for his entire career, having made his debut for the Liga outfit in 2008, and in the intervening five years Aspas has proved himself to be a lively striker with an eye for goal.
However, it was in the previous campaign that Aspas really caught fire in front of goal as he managed to find the back of the net on 12 occasions in 37 fixtures in all competitions for the struggling Spanish outfit, with all of those strikes coming in the league as Celta managed to avoid relegation only on the final day of the season.
And now it appears as though the in-form attacker has agreed personal terms with the Reds after his club and the Merseysiders had settled on a transfer fee last week, with now just his medical to take place at Melwood next week.
