The Liverpool Reds are reportedly ready to make a large offer in area of £20 million in order to acquire Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
According to the Sunday Express, Liverpool is eager to sign a new striker with the club poised to finish 5th in the Premier League standings – good enough to land them in the Europa Cup, but not good enough for Champions League – and are considering a big-time offer to lure the French star out of his home country.
The Sunday Express also noted that Manchester United is currently poised to make the highest qualifying offer for Lacazette, who has an incredible 27 goals in just 31 appearances for Lyon in Ligue 1 this season and 15 goals in 36 appearances last season. Lacazette has played his entire professional career with Lyon and has played for the French national team every year since 2006. From 2010-2011, Lacazette scored 9 goals with the French Under-20 team in just 12 appearances.
Lyon currently ranks 2nd in Ligue 1 and is poised to do everything in its power to keep the sensational forward in France as they move to Champions League.
