Kovacic has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield, and London Evening Standard [via Independent] reports that the Reds are in talks over a £21.3m transfer for the former Dinamo Zagreb prodigy.
The 21-year-old is highly-rated by Inter boss Roberto Mancini, however his sale would help fund the Serie A side’s transfer plans after already signing Monaco star Geoffrey Kondogbia for £28m this week and have also brought defenders Miranda and Jeisoe Murillo to the San Siro.
Mancini is believed to be wanting to make even more signings as he looks to make Inter a force in Italian and European football yet again.
According to the report, Kovacic is in no rush to leave Inter but will consider making an exit should the Nerazzurri shop him around.
The Croatia international is rated as one of Europe’s brightest talents and would be a massive addition to Brendan Rodgers’s side.
