Although Liverpool is ready, willing and able to sign Juventus’ star Forward Carlos Tevez as soon as possible, the Argentinian star is in no hurry to make a decision.
According to Italy’s Tuttomercatoweb via the Express, the former Man United and Man City star does not want to be distracted while he competes in Copa America and will not make a decision on his future with Juventus until after the tournament ends in late-July.
Liverpool remains the top club in contention for Juventus’ star after reportedly being given the green light to pursue him just a few days ago.
The highly-decorated Argentinian star became a household name with Manchester United and then with Manchester City, recording 77 goals in six years and winning the Premier League Golden Boot award with Man City in 2010-11 after scoring 23 goals with the club. In two seasons with Juventus, Tevez has recorded 39 goals in 66 appearances and helped lead the club to a Runner-Up placing in the Champions League Final.
With a weekly salary estimated at £150,000 per week (according to The Independent), Tevez will certainly not come cheap. But with the Reds needing a big-time scoring threat after being outscored 10-3 in the final three games of the 2014-15 Premier League season, no price may prove too high to Brenden Rodgers for a player of Tevez’s caliber.
