The Bolton goalkeeper’s contract with the team has expired, and he declined to re-sign with them despite receiving a contract offer.
Bogdan was announced as a Liverpool signing shortly after they agreed to a free transfer deal for midfielder James Milner.
The 27-year-old was observed by Liverpool during the Champions League quarterfinals, which Bogdan shined in when Bolton ended their match in a scoreless draw.
The Hungary international had previously received interest from other clubs across Europe, but Liverpool is not resting after their season finale blowout loss to Stoke City.
Bogdan is expected to officially sign with Liverpool on July 1, which is the day the transfer window opens.
“I am confident that soon will decide my fate. My goal is to play at a higher level but it also depends on where you get a chance,” Bogdan told ESPN FC.
Liverpool and other teams are already working out transfer deals with players though, and it’s sure to heat up even more as the big day draws closer.
