Reds finally agree £20 million fee with Southampton for Lovren.
Liverpool have finally agreed a £20 million fee with Southampton for the transfer of their ace defensive target Dejan Lovren, reports the Daily Mirror.
After weeks of negotiations, the Reds have agreed to pay £16 million plus add-ons rising up to £20 million for the 24-year-old Croat.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is said to be a huge admirer of Lovren, and believes that the central defender could give his defence some much needed depth.
Rodgers identified his defence as the area that needed much improvement going into this season and is probably set to make one or two more defensive signings before the end of the transfer window.
The Merseysiders will complete the signing of Lovren by this weekend, but the former Lyon man would only join his new teammates post their tour of the USA.
Reports also suggest that Rodgers is likely to do away with error prone 33-year-old centre-back Kolo Toure for free if the Ivorian finds a new club this summer.
