Speaking with the Daily Mirror, Irvine said that should one of the Premier League’s bigger side’s come sniffing around then the England under-21 international could be made available.
And that news has alerted Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, who is on the lookout for some more firepower as signed Mario Balotelli continues to struggle for form.
The Italian international has scored only once since making the move to Anfield, and with Daniel Sturridge still missing through injury Rodgers has been caught short up front and has found himself under pressure as the club struggle to stop their slide.
With Divock Origi returning to the side in the summer, Rodgers has taken more than a passing interest in the England under-21 star and he would be willing to cough up around £12m for his signature in the new year.
Berahino has already bagged four goals in six league games for the Baggies this term, and there have been calls for him to be included in the England national side for their upcoming European qualifiers against San Marino and Estonia.
