AMR: Jordon Ibe – 6/10
Had a really good tussle with Eric Pieters in the first half. He faded after the break, but Rodgers clearly has great faith in the youngster and he should get a run in the team on the right wing.
AMC: Philippe Coutinho – 7/10
In a match short of creativity and quality in the final third, the Brazilian came up with the game-winning contribution, spinning superbly away from Steve Sidwell and thrashing a 25-yard rocket past Jack Butland. Liverpool need him to step up again this season and he has started in perfect fashion.
AML: Adam Lallana – 5/10
Had a couple of nice touches here and there, but was not as involved in the game as much as Liverpool needed him to be. Questions remain over his fitness as again he was hooked not long after the hour.
