Steven Gerrard – 9
Another great game for the skipper – as soon as the midfielder got going that is – with a stunning pass for the visitors’ first and then a composed penalty to finish it off.
Jordan Henderson – 8
The Englishman is really staking a claim to be on the plane to the 2014 World Cup with another great performance for the Merseysiders, particularly in the final third.
Coutinho – 7
Was quiet in the first half but really got going after the break with a well taken finish for the away team’s second and almost scored another later on with a brilliant strike.
Raheem Sterling – 6
The 19-year-old can’t be expected to perform like he did against Arsenal ion Saturday in every match and the England international looked a little jaded and off the pace.
