CM) Joe Allen (6.5) – The best part of Liverpool’s midfield, Allen was tenacious off-the-ball and neat on it.
CM) Jordan Henderson (5) – Henderson seemed to be off colour all evening, struggling to show the same energy and brightness that made him such a fine player last season.
ACM) Philippe Coutinho (6) – Not a lot came off for Coutinho, but the Brazilian got into some useful positions and looked more likely to create something than many of his teammates.
