Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly planning a £52m spending spree to ensure that his side qualify for the Champions League next season.
The Reds have already done shrewd business this summer, bringing in James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan on free transfers and investing £3m on highly-rated teenager Joe Gomez.
Now the Daily Star claims that they are ready to splash the cash.

A £16m bid has been lodged for Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illaramendi and Liverpool are optimistic of getting that deal over the line quickly as they seek a replacement for Steven Gerrard.
Rodgers’s other priority is to add more firepower in attack and £22m-rated Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca and Salomon Rondon of Zenit St. Petersburg are on his wish-list.
Anfield bosses baulked at the £32.5m asking price for Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke and apparently view Venezuelan international Rondon, who is valued at less than half of that figure, as a better option.
