Reds may have to fight off PSG’s advances however to sign player.
Liverpool are keen to bring highly rated Valencia midfield player Sofiane Feghouli to Merseyside at the end of this season, according to reports in the Sunday Mirror.
The Algeria international has enjoyed yet another eye catching campaign for the high flying La Liga club, and only signed a new contract in Jan 2013 that will keep the player at the Mestalla until 2016.
However, the Reds are also well aware of Valencia’s current financial difficulties and that should the Premier League outfit come up with an attractive offer come the summer, then the Spaniards would be keen to do business.
Feghouli, who operates as a defensive midfield player, is valued at £13 million by Valencia, but Liverpool will offer only around £9m for the player’s services, which could still be enough to persuade the club to part company with the 23-year-old, unless big-spending Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain enter the race that is.
Brendan Rodgers’ interest in Feghouli would suggest he wants to build a team with a strong base to the midfield, for he already has Lucas Leiva, Joe Allen, Jordan Henderson and even Steven Gerrard capable of sitting deep.
