Reds interested in Lyon’s Croatia international.
Liverpool are weighing up making an end-of-season move for highly-rated Lyon defender Dejan Lovren, while the Reds may also allow striker Fabio Borini to join Fiorentina this summer, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
The Ligue 1 defender has enjoyed an eye-catching campaign for the French giants, so much so that the likes of fellow Premier League giants Everton and Chelsea are also believed to be interested in the 23-year-old Croatian defender.
Meanwhile, the Merseysiders must also decide on whether or not they wish to sell Italy international Borini to Fiorentina at the end of this campaign after the Florence-based club contacted Liverpool to express a desire to sign the centre forward.
Reds head coach Brendan Rodgers only signed the 21-year-old at the start of this season, having previously worked with the player at both Chelsea and Swansea City, although Borini has so far endured an up-and-down campaign for the club, culminating in him dislocating his shoulder in Sunday’s 5-0 win over Swansea the Premier League at Anfield.
That injury has ruled the striker out for the rest of the season, however, Fiorentina would still be interested in signing Borini come the summer, although they believe that Liverpool may not want to sell him.
“We like Fabio Borini, but it’s hard to see that Liverpool will let him go,” confirmed Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade.
