The Reds may have only an outside chance of making into the Champions League, but should Spurs do the Reds a favour by beating Manchester City then the race for fourth place will be alive and kicking going into the final stretch.

The German’s inclusion ahead of Glen Johnson virtually confirms the England international’s departure. Wasted slightly out of position, but has proved to be a very handy signing indeed.
