Liverpool stick with same team that lost to Manchester United in the League Cup…
Defence:
With Glen Johnson definitely out injured, and Daniel Agger unlikely to make the starting XI, Kolo Toure will continue to deputise at right-back ahead of young fullback Andre Wisdom, and Martin Skrtel will play alongside new signing Mamadou Sakho at the heart of defence.
Midfield:
Brendan Rodgers will no doubt pick the same midfield three he has all season. Lucas and Steven Gerrard will provide the platform from which the more dynamic and creative players can perform, while Jordan Henderson will hassle the Sunderland midfield with his tireless running and closing down.
Attack:
Luis Suarez will make his long awaited return to the starting XI following his ten match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic. Because of Daniel Sturridge’s impressive form spearheading the team, Suarez will play from a slightly deeper role where he can pick the ball up and run at Sunderland’s out of form defenders. Victor Moses has done well since his arrival from Chelsea on deadline day, and will provide a direct and pacey option down the right flank ahead of the unimpressive Iago Aspas and the out of form Raheem Sterling.
