It’s likely to be an emotional day for all involved at the Britannia Stadium with the legendary Steven Gerrard to sign off after a long and successful Liverpool Career against Stoke City.

Liverpool transfer news: Sterling cannot join Chelsea says Nevill, fears Reds could poach Arsenal star, Jordon Ibe must ignore transfer talk
This weekend will see English football say a fond farewell to one of it’s true legends and you’d expect Brendan Rodgers to reflect this in his team selection for the occasion and Gerrard to start.
It might also be the last time we see some of the Reds more ill-fated names of recent years with surely a big overhaul needed in some departments this summer by Brendan Rodgers to try and get Liverpool back in contention with the Premier League’s elite clubs.
It might also be a final Liverpool appearance for one Raheem Sterling after the continued machinations by his agent almost make his position at Anfield untenable.
Liverpool fans will have been hoping he would be the next player to forge a legacy at the club but may now want his toxic influence to be gone as soon as possible – but Brendan Rodgers might still keep him involved if he wants a win.
Here’s how Liverpool will likely line-up:
GK: Simon Mignolet
A clean sheet will incredibly give Mignolet a decent shout at this season’s Golden Glove award – almost unthinkable when he was dropped during the campaign for Brad Jones
His first shut-out as a Red came after a last-minute penalty save against Stoke and he’ll have fond memories of playing the Potters when he heads out on to the field today.
RCB: Emre Can
Will be moved slightly further into the centre as Brendan Rodgers returns to a three at the back.
It’s been a season of adaptation for the German in more ways than one after Rodgers tactical variety and the being his first campaign in English football.
