According to papers in Chile, the Nerazzurri star will be the subject of an €8m bid from the Premier League giants, as reported by Football Italia.
It is suggested that Brendan Rodgers was impressed with the 27-year-old’s performances through the Copa America, and in turn is now looking into making a bid for the combative midfielder.
Liverpool have also been linked with a move for another Inter midfielder in Mateo Kovacic, but it is claimed that their advances have been rebuffed by the Serie A outfit.
The Croatian international is seen as an important part of the club’s future, with supporters unveiling a banner at pre-season training this week urging the club to keep him.
It remains to be seen if that is enough to ensure that Inter reject any bids that they may receive for him this summer, but it is unlikely that they will as protective of Medel.
