The Reds join Spurs in the chase for Basel’s Salah.
FC Basel winger Mohamed Salah is known to Chelsea fans after scoring against them in the Champions League this year and Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are tracking the youngster, according to the Daily Mail.
The Swiss champions want £15m for the 21-year-old as Spurs prepared to make a move for the Egypt international in January, but the Reds are looking to hijack that deal.
Salah has been in great form so far this season, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 17 matches in all competitions – including three strikes in Champions League qualification.
There may some questions asked at White Hart Lane if manager Andre Villas-Boas were to make a move for another winger, with Aaron Lennon, Andros Townsend and club record signing Erik Lamela already available.
The Merseyside outfit meanwhile are lacking support on the wings, having let Stewart Downing, Oussama Assaidi and Suso leave this summer.
Currently Brendan Rodgers only has Raheem Sterling available as an out-and-out winger, although new arrivals Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas can operate out wide.
However, with the new formation Rodgers has instigated at Anfield, with three centre-backs and wing-backs, a wide midfielder may not fit into the system.
The club are also interested in Derby County youngster Will Hughes, who they have tracked for some time and a deal is almost seems certain for.
The side have started the current campaign very strongly, having won six of their opening nine Premier League matches and currently sit in third position in the table – level on points with second-placed Chelsea.
