Mexican is on Merseysiders’ radar this summer.
Liverpool have been put on alert by the news that promising FC Barcelona midfielder player Jonathan dos Santos is considering his future with the Catalan giants, says the Metro.
The Mexico international has found it hard to break into the Barca first team since arriving at Camp Nou as a youngster four years ago, with his path being blocked by the likes of regular starters Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Cesc Fabregas.
In fact, the 22-year-old has made just 22 appearances for the Spanish giants in that time, but with a contract at Barcelona that runs until the summer of 2015, the player has reached something of a crossroads in his career.
And it is this latest development that has alerted Premier League outfit Liverpool, who have been keeping close tabs on dos Santos for some time now as they look to continue to bring some of world football’s best and brightest prospects to Anfield under the new American regime of John W Henry and the Fenway Sports Group.
