Sterling has been named in the 30-man squad for the tour of Thailand, Australia and Malaysia, despite reports claiming that he had asked manager Brendan Rodgers to be allowed to not to travel.
The 20-year-old skipped training on Wednesday and Thursday citing illness before returning to join up with his teammates on Friday.
The Liverpool winger has already been the subject of two failed bids from City, with the second reportedly worth £40m, according to Sky Sports.
It is now suggested that Manuel Pellegrini is preparing a new bid of £50m, which would match the Reds’ valuation of the talented English international.
In the meantime, City are continuing to monitor the situation at Anfield and it remains to be seen whether or not the youngster gets his wishe of a move elsewhere.
After a quiet start to the transfer window, it is also reported that Pellegrini will look to tie up a deal with Fabian Delph in the coming days, as reported by the BBC.
