Liverpool are understood to have knocked back a loan approach from Roma for Mamadou Sakho.
The French defender was left out of the Reds team which beat Stoke City 1-0 on the opening weekend, with Brendan Rodgers preferring Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren as his centre-back pair.
And he reportedly fears that not getting regular football this season could harm his Euro 2016 chances.
But Liverpool are not willing to loan out the 25-year-old, nor are they actively looking to sell him, according to the Telegraph, with only Kolo Toure as further defensive back-up.
Therefore they rejected a cheeky bid from Italian giants Roma to take Sakho for the 2015-16 campaign.
Sakho has made 44 appearances for Liverpool since his £18m arrival from Paris Saint-Germain in 2013.
