Liverpool nearing £17.1m deal for Newcastle United midfielder
Liverpool striker’s agent reveals he’s keen on leaving Anfield
Liverpool has just been cleared to make a transfer deal for the 21-year-old’s services, and his agent revealed that he is likely to leave this summer.
“There is a big possibility that he will leave on a permanent deal,” Mikkel Beck said to Metro.
Assuming there is truth to these comments, Digne will be leaving behind a championship team as Paris Saint-Germain recently secured the Ligue 1 title.
Meanwhile, Liverpool is hoping to soften the blow of losing midfielder and Premier League legend Steven Gerrard, who left the Reds after playing 17 seasons with them.
They are also looking to overcome a nightmarish finish to their 2014-15 season, which consisted of them allowing six goals in a loss to Stoke City.
Manager Brendan Rodgers would undoubtedly be thrilled to bring in a young player like Digne to possibly be Gerrard’s replacement down the road if he can play to his potential.
