Derby County’s Will Hughes nearing Liverpool switch but will remain at Pride Park until next summer.
Liverpool are closing in on a £10m deal for Derby County wonderkid Will Hughes, reports the Independent.
Under the terms of the deal, the England Under-21 international would remain at Pride Park for the remainder of the season.
Hughes is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in English football and made his debut for the Championship club aged just 16.
The now 18-year-old made 35 appearances for Derby last term and has been watched extensively over the past six months by Liverpool’s chief scout Barry Hunter.
Arsenal and Manchester City have also expressed an interest in the midfielder but the Reds are prepared to pay Derby’s asking price for Hughes, who has been earmarked for progression to the England senior squad within the next four years.
