19-year old Belgian striker Divock Origi is all set to sign for Liverpool, reports the Daily Mirror.
The Reds have agreed a £12.5 million deal for the Lille man, who was also tracked by Arsenal and Tottenham. Merseyside seemed to prove to be a more attractive destination for the youngster though as Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to build an exciting young side at Anfield after a promising last season.
Origi would reportedly be loaned back to Lille for this season as part of the deal between the two clubs, and Rodgers possibly wants the youngster to come into his squad next season with more first team experience under his belt.
Reports suggest that the youngster took nearly three weeks to make a call on joining Liverpool after he was shown around the club by Rodgers, who also reportedly outlined his plans for the future. Origi will join a group of bright young talents at Anfield and could enjoy the prospect of working with a manager who is clearly laying the emphasis on developing a youthful looking side for the future.
