Liverpool are said to have earmarked their first summer signing in the shape of Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic, according to the Daily Express.

The Croatian international only linked up with the defending La Liga champions last summer, but with the Reds set to undergo a massive clear out over the summer they have targeted him as one of their top targets.
And though they look set to miss out on a spot in next season’s Champions League, manager Brendan Rodgers still believes that the club will have enough about them to attract top names during the transfer market.
Having sold Luis Suarez last summer, Rodgers has been let down by the goal shy form of Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini – a situation made worse by the series of injuries sustained by Daniel Sturridge.
Rodgers has Divock Origi coming in from Lille at the end of the season, but he is keen to further bolster his attacking options in order to avoid another disappointing campaign.
Mandzukic has bagged 17 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions this season and has also previously been linked with a move to Arsenal.
