Liverpool are set to make a raid on Real Madrid and Barcelona and Brendan Rodgers looks to bolster his side ahead of the new Premier League season, according to reports.
The Reds have been extremely active in the transfer market this summer having already brought in the likes of Christian Benteke, Roberto Firmino, James Milner and Danny Ings, however it seems the Merseyside club aren’t done just yet.
To complete his squad overhaul, Rodgers is believed to be keen to sign Real Madrid’s Asier Illarramendi and Barcelona winger Adama Traore.
According to Daily Express, Illarramendi has been rendered surplus to requirements by new Real Madrid boss Rafael Benitez and could become available to the Reds for £13.9m.
With Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Emre Can and Lucas Leiva all capable of playing in the holding midfield role, it remains to be seen if Rodgers is keen to add the 25-year-old to the mix, although there’s no doubt the Spanish international would be a huge addition to the squad.
Liverpool are also believed to be keen to complete a deal for Adama Traore, with Metro reporting the Reds are close to finalising a £4.2m deal for the 19-year-old.
Traore is also believed to have interest from Aston Villa, but it is understood Liverpool are in pole position to land the youngster’s signature.
