Liverpool have received a major transfer boost with Real Madrid set to accept a bid for speedster Denis Cheryshev, reports suggest.
Cheryshev has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with reports also linking Arsenal to the Russian international.
However, it seems Liverpool have moved into pole position to snare the 24-year-old’s signature with Metro [via Fichajes] reporting that the Reds’ £14.7m bid for the player will be accepted by the La Liga giants.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to bolster his midfield following the £49m departure of Raheem Sterling, and the addition of Cheryshev would certainly strengthen his side in wide areas.
Cheryshev is yet to make an appearance in the La Liga with Real Madrid but scored four goals in 26 appearances to help Villarreal to a sixth-placed finish last term.
The pacy winger has won seven caps for Russia since making his international debut in 2012.
