Liverpool have already binged on signing multiple players in the transfer window, but they have another target in Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie.
However, their desire for Bolasie is being severely tested, as the Liverpool Echo reports that Palace have raised their asking price for Bolasie to £25m.
Manager Alan Pardew expressed confidence that this will be enough to keep Bolasie around.
“There is no long-running saga. It is just fed by the media and the fact that we have done really, really well. We have had no bids for him. None,” Pardew revealed.
This makes it difficult for the Reds to pull the trigger on this sort of deal, as they have already invested £32.5m in striker Christian Benteke.
Liverpool have been facing competition from Tottenham Hotspur, who are also keen to increase their offensive firepower to take the focus off young superstar Harry Kane.
However, it appears that neither team will have any luck in landing Bolasie, assuming Pardew’s comments are true.
