It ends an all round disappointing spell at the club after his switch last summer, with manager Brendan Rodgers now having even more options to choose from.
Following the arrivals of Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke, Lambert’s first team opportunities would certainly have been impacted negatively.
As a result, the England international has opted to make the move to West Brom where he will potentially play an integral role for Tony Pulis in their bid to avoid relegation next season.
Lambert will undoubtedly hope that it also has a positive influence on his England chances ahead of Euro 2016 next summer.
