Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson is in major doubt for the Reds’ clash with Arsenal next Monday due to a foot injury, according to reports.
Henderson limped off in the second half of Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Bournemouth on Monday, and is reported to have undergone scans on Tuesday.
According to Daily Express, the England international missed a few days’ training in the lead up to the clash at Anfield and could only take to the pitch with the help on painkillers.
Liverpool are reportedly confident the former Sunderland man has not suffered a broken foot, however, it is understood the injury will require rest and will likely force the midfielder out of the Reds’ clash with the Gunners at the Emirates next week.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have taken six points from their opening two matches against Stoke City and Bournemouth and are yet to concede a goal.
Arsenal will present a much greater challenge though, and it will be interesting too see how the new-look Reds perform against a title challenger.
