No deal in place for Dane to join the Reds.
Ajax have insisted that there is no formal agreement just yet for in-demand midfield player Christian Eriksen to join Premier League giants Liverpool, reports the Daily Mail.
The 21-year-old has a contract with the current Eredivisie leaders until next summer, who will be desperate to persuade the Dane to either put pen to paper on a new long-term deal, or if not they will be forced to sell the youngster at the end of the season rather than risk losing him for free in June 2014.
The highly-rated Denmark international has been with the Dutch outfit since 2009, with his eye-catching displays for the club in the intervening four years bringing him to the attentions of some of European football’s biggest clubs.
However, it appears as though the Merseysiders may have stolen a march on many of their rivals by demonstrating their interest in Eriksen for the longest period of time, with the Reds having tracked the playmaker since last season.
Eriksen is likely to cost Liverpool somewhere in the region of between £15 million and £20m if he moves to Anfield this summer.
