Is it flair to label Ilori a flop already…?
Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori has confirmed that he is joining La Liga side Granada on loan, reports the Liverpool Echo, and the club’s official website has also confirmed the deal.
The young Portuguese defender cost the Reds £7m in the summer, but has not played a single minute of first-team football since his arrival, even with Daniel Agger and Mamadou Sakho suffering with injuries.
“I’m going to Granada with the aim of winning a starting spot, which depends on me,” Ilori said.
The 20-year-old is rangy, and composed with the ball at his feet, but will need first-team football to develop his obvious potential.
The Spanish club are currently sitting mid-table, and Liverpool will hope Ilori will able to force himself into the starting lineup and return to Anfield in the summer a more mature defender.
