With the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini also looking to have an impact, it remains to be seen who boss Brendan Rodgers cuts before the window closes.
Both Balotelli and Borini have been linked with an exit, and so Ings may have more chance of an opportunity in the coming months.
“I knew there would be a transition period when I joined Liverpool. I expected this. I knew I was going to have to be patient,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
“With all due respect to Burnley, it’s a gigantic step from there to Liverpool…There are some unbelievable strikers here, but that helps me because even when I’m not playing I’m learning from those players every day in training and becoming the best I can be.
“I’m extremely happy here. I’m confident in my own ability and whenever my debut arrives I’ll do my best to take my chance. I’m looking forward to the future.”
Benteke scored on his debut for the club last week, while Sturridge is expected to return from injury in the coming weeks.
